When Hurricane Sandy hit last October, I was in Howard Beach, NY -- not far from the Rockaways. I witnessed the devastation that this super-storm inflicted on so many families in this 100+ year old community and heard over and over again how nothing like this had ever happened here before. Several months have passed since that frightening night, but for many families in this community and other affected areas, the physical and emotional recovery is far from over. Climate change is affecting all of us and the messages it is sending are getting louder and more frequent.
April 22, 2013 marks the 43rd anniversary of Earth Day -- a day when more than one billion people across the globe take part in Earth Day activities. Individuals, communities, organizations, and governments will acknowledge the amazing planet we call home and take action to protect it. We all need to make changes to protect our planet -- not just on Earth Day but everyday. Watch the video below and visit http://www.earthday.org/2013 to learn more.
